American Dietetic Association Names Atlanta Registered Dietitian as New 2006-09 National Media Spokesperson and Reappoints Six Spokespeople

CHICAGO – The American Dietetic Association has appointed Atlanta, Ga., registered dietitian Marisa Moore to a three-year term as a media spokesperson for ADA and reappointed six current spokespeople.
ADA’s nationwide volunteer spokesperson network consists of 30 RDs from all parts of the country who conduct more than 2,000 print, broadcast and electronic interviews each year.
Marisa Moore, RD, LD, is a contract nutrition program coordinator with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, where she manages the delivery of programs and services to employees throughout nine CDC Atlanta-area campuses. Her responsibilities include conducting nutrition seminars, weight management courses, supermarket tours and other special programs. Moore is a specialist in cardiovascular nutrition, diabetes, nutrient analysis, obesity and weight management and worksite nutrition.
In addition, the following current ADA spokespeople have been reappointed for 2006-09:
